Case Details

1.5years old Lapsang Tamang (Name Changed) originally comes from Bara district. He lives in a rented room in Gokarna, Kathmandu. His parents are separated. His father has been refraining from taking up any responsibility in raising his child. His mother works in a small cottage industry (carpet factory) to make their ends meet and share the rent with Lapsang’s aunt. On 20th February 2021, at around 10:30a.m, his mother had left hot water of kettle on the table to let it cool. Lopsang and his mother were eating food. His cousin sister was trying to lift the hot kettle but unfortunately the kettle slipped from her hands and the hot water spilled all over Lapsang’s body. He got severely burnt. His mother applied tomatoes on the burnt area. Immediately, his mother took him to Nepal Medical College-Jorpati, Kathmandu where he received first-aid treatment. Later, he was referred to Kanti Children’s Hospital for further treatment. Their financial condition is very low. The unfortunate incident has caused added financial constraint on the family. They are in dire need of financial support for the medical and surgical treatment and nutritious food. BVS-Nepal supported his for medical and surgical treatment, clothes, transportation cost and extra nutritious food.
