Case Details

48 Year old Pancha Kala Thapa originally comes from Kathmandu District. Pancha Kala and her husband are leprosy patients. Her husband has been undergoing treatment at Anandaban Hospital since the past 23 years. Currently, she and her children live in a village, far from the Budhanilkantha Market. Her son is the only breadwinner of the family. Their financial condition is very poor. On 15 April 2022, at around 6:00p.m., she was cooking food in the open cooking fireplace when unfortunately, her clothes caught fire from the backside. She sustained deep burn. Hearing her scream, her neighbor rushed to help her and poured cold water on the burnt area. They immediately called her son up. Her son took her to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for further treatment. BVS-Nepal is providing her with medical and surgical treatment, nutrition and some additional support.
