Case Details

27 years old Kalpana Chaudhary (Name Changed) originally comes from Kailali District. She is an epileptic patient. On 2nd January 2021 at around 7:00p.m., her neighbour had passed away hence, her family members were at the funeral. Meantime, Kalpana was sitting near the open cooking fire and breastfeeding her child. Suddenly, she got convulsion and fell into the open cooking fire along with her son. The neighbors heard her son cry and immediately rushed to help and saw that Kalpana had fainted. The neighbour rescued them and quickly informed her husband who applied aloe vera on the wounded area. Kalpana was taken to Ghodaghadi Hospital where she received first-aid treatment. Later, she was sent to Kohalpur Hospital and Bheri Provincial Hospital who were reluctant to admit her due to the severity of injury. On the same day she was referred to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital. Since she was a lactating mother, they could not admit the different hospital. On 2nd January 2021, she was admitted to Kirtipur Hospital.  According to the doctor, her fingers need to be amputated . Hearing this, she panicked and returned back home on 8th January 2021. She stayed there for 2 months and 3 days. Her wounds got infected hence she was brought to Seti Provincial Hospital Dhangadhi on the same day. She was referred to Kirtipur Hospital on 13th March 2021.
